Cursus beschrijving

The IELTS preparation programme is for students planning to take the IELTS examination, finetuning their English language skills and preparation for IELTS. The programme provides language support, as well as developing key insights and knowledge surrounding the IELTS examination content, marking criteria and examination skills, with a biweekly in-house IELTS mock examination and one-to-one tailored feedback from our IELTS experts. At the end of the course, students have the option to take the IELTS examination.

• Students planning to take the IELTS examination
• Those wishing to gain a better understanding of the IELTS exam content and techniques
• Students wishing to improve their understanding of English language to assist their examination success

Assessment Criteria
There are three main forms of assessment used by Bucksmore during the IELTS Preparation programme:
An initial multi-skill placement test taken by all students to place them in the correct class.
Continual assessment by the teachers throughout the English lessons and monitoring progress, including providing individual intervention and support for students if needed
Biweekly MOCK IELTS examinations, which will be marked and one-to-one tailored feedback given to students from our IELTS experts.
End of course IELTS examination is included in the course fees

Course Outcomes
• Build language skills and confidence across multiple areas of English language
• A solid understanding of the IELTS exam content and marking criteria
• Confidence and firm ability to take the IELTS exam and achieve the required level
• Firm definition of English level on completion of course using Bucksmore Assessment

KCL is in het hartje Londen gevestigd en is één van de meest populaire scholen in VK. De school specialiseerd in Engels onderwijzen aan buitenlandse studenten zoals uzelf. De klasgrootte is ook zeer klein in vergelijking met andere scholen. Zij hebben ook zeer vriendelijke docenten en medewerkers die goed voor u zullen zorgen terwijl u in Londen bent.

School locatie

Founded in 1829, King’s College London is one of the oldest university-level institutions in England. The university has 5 campuses although Bucksmore only uses the historic, and arguably, most famous Strand Campus, a short 5 minute walk from Covent Garden.

Bucksmore students studying at King’s College London will benefit from an exciting activities schedule that centres around exploring life in the capital city. All students are provided with a London travelcard so they can visit museums, landmarks and famous city sites throughout their time on their course.

Accommodation

Located only a 3 minute walk from Waterloo station, Stamford Street accommodation is located just south of the River Thames. Students are accommodated in flats of 6-7 students with one Bucksmore staff member in each flat. All rooms are single en-suite and have a shared kitchen facility for hot water and fridges. Male and female accommodation is separate.

The main teaching site is at the Virginia Woolf Building, which is a 15 minute walk from the accommodation. Students will take their meals in Bush House, 2 minutes from the teaching site and adjacent to the famous Somerset House.

Visa assistentie

We kunnen geen visas voor studenten aanvragen. De school kan u echter wel met alle benodigde documentatie voorzien die u nodig heeft voor uw visa aanvraag.

Indien u voor meer dan 11 maanden in de VK studeert, zult u een referentie nummer ontvangen genaamd Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) die u bij de VK ambassade in dient te leveren samen met uw Standaard Studenten Visa aanmeldingsformulier. Studenten die succesvol een talen cursus gereserveerd hebben en die hun kosten betaald hebben zullen een CAS van KCL ontvangen. Let aub op dat UK wet aangeeft dat een CAS alleen aan studenten gegeven kan worden die Engelse taal studies willen gaan doen die meer dan 11 maanden duren.

Indien u voor 11 maanden of minder in de VK studeert, dient u een speciale bezoeker's visa aan te vragen genaamd Student Visitor Visa. Als student bezoeker, zult u niet in staat zijn part-time te werken terwijl u studeert. Indien u van plan bent om 11 maanden of minder in de UK te studeren, zal een acceptatiebrief naar u gestuurd worden tegen geen extra kosten.
