Cursus beschrijving

Introductory and advanced workshops will introduce students to all phases of the writing process, including idea generation, writing and revising drafts and editing.

Discover writing through a range of projects including essays, short stories and poetry
Study the work of renowned writers and discover your own voice
Find out how to use the world around you as a source of ideas and inspiration
Benefit from regular and extensive writing practice and balanced critical evaluation
See your work in print by contributing to the publication - The ISSOS Times
Students will write extensively and the course is intended for those who want to understand and harness the forces of creative language to produce original poems, scenes from a play or movie, song lyrics and short stories.

Students will challenge themselves creatively and learn to write in a truly inspiring environment.

Het exclusieve ISSOS-zomerschoolprogramma biedt middelbare scholieren van meer dan 80 nationaliteiten (13-18 jaar) de mogelijkheid om studeren en avontuur te combineren in een van de drie prachtige, historische en pittoreske universiteitssteden St Andrews, Cambridge en Yale.
Ons programma van drie weken verwelkomt studenten van over de hele wereld, waarbij moedertaalsprekers en niet-moedertaalsprekers van het Engels samen studeren en het aantal studenten van één nationaliteit slechts 10% is om zo een echt internationale ervaring te garanderen. Alle medewerkers die lesgeven aan ISSOS zijn professionals in hun vakgebied en komen van de beste universiteiten en organisaties ter wereld.

Ons zomerprogramma aan de prestigieuze Yale University bevindt zich in New Haven, Connecticut. De campus ligt op 265 hectare en biedt veel voorzieningen voor studenten tijdens hun verblijf. Wat nog belangrijker is, Yale biedt een veilige campus waar studenten een bepaalde mate van vrijheid kunnen genieten en alles kunnen ervaren wat het te bieden heeft.
De universiteitscampus van Yale biedt studenten de mogelijkheid om de vele universiteitsgebouwen te verkennen, te winkelen in de kleine universiteitsstad en te genieten van de verscheidenheid aan cafés en restaurants.

ISSOS International Summer Schools are amazing. The staff are incredibly welcoming. The teachers are engaging and encouraging and their classes are interesting and dynamic. The accommodation is safe and comfortable. The location was wonderful and there is the opportunity to go on fun and interesting trips. I would recommend ISSOS to anyone who wants to practise and improve their English skills, study interesting academic and elective classes, meet friends from lots of different nationalities and have so much fun!

ISSOS at Yale is set within the grounds of Yale University. Students are housed in the historic Trumbull College which provides them with a very comfortable and safe ‘home away from home’ for the duration of the three-week program. Trumbull is one of Yale’s most beautiful and most intimate residential colleges. It is said that James Gamble Rogers, who designed nine of Yale’s twelve residential colleges, considered Trumbull his masterpiece.

All students will be housed in Trumbull College with its oak paneled common room facilities, libraries and lawns that students can take full advantage of during their stay.
