Cursus beschrijving

Alexandria Institute offers courses in Greek literature and culture aimed at participants from level B1 upwards that would like to get acquainted with the most representative figures of Modern Greek literature and culture. To this end, we have compiled an assortment of historically and culturally contextualized texts and artistic works so as to prompt observation and discussion. The course deals with the principal literary periods, the historical background as well as the most representative Greek literature figures and works. Students are given the opportunity to delve deeper into Greek language and culture by way of linguistically processing the texts and commenting on them.
The curriculum can be arranged in a way that suits the students’ needs and preferences. For instance, priority can be given to the works of one writer, one specific book, or a certain literary era or genre, e.g. poetry, short stories or novels.
Students particularly keen on literature, arts, history and traditions, who wish to either familiarize themselves with Greek culture or explore it more exhaustively, will certainly find this specific course ideal.
DURATION: 10 days.

Classes take place from Monday until Sunday, from 9pm to 1am with a break on Thursday during the first week. On the second week there is a break on Monday and lessons continue from Tuesday until Friday.
Courses: 2 to 4 hours a day depending on the number of participants
1 student – 2 hours a day
2 students – 3 hours a day
3 to 7 students – 4 hours a day

Venues: Athens, Chios and Paros as well as online

Leer Grieks op het prachtige eiland Paros

Leer Grieks op het prachtige eiland Paros en ontdek de tradities, gouden stranden, rijke geschiedenis en levendige moderne cultuur.

Elke juli organiseert het Alexandria Institute een Cursus Moderne Griekse Taal en Cultuur voor alle niveaus, op een van de mooiste eilanden van de Cycladen — de ideale plek om taal, cultuur en zomerse ontspanning te combineren.

Deelnemers kunnen kiezen uit één-, twee-, drie- of vierweekse cursussen, afhankelijk van hun doelen en beschikbaarheid.

Naast modern Grieks bieden wij ook:

een Oudgriekse cursus voor beginners, halfgevorderden en gevorderden,

en een programma Griekse literatuur en cultuur, voor wie de diepte en schoonheid van de Griekse taal en denkwijze wil verkennen.

Maar Grieks leren is nog maar het begin.
Ons programma op Paros biedt een werkelijk onderdompelende ervaring, waarin de taal verbonden is met het dagelijkse leven van het eiland.
Via culturele activiteiten, rondleidingen, kookworkshops en excursies ontdekken studenten de gastronomie, architectuur en het erfgoed van Paros en ervaren ze de authentieke geest van dit unieke Cycladische eiland.
